BGCI International Advisory Council meeting announced for May

10 February 2016

BGCI’s International Advisory Council (IAC) will meet at BGCI’s Headquarters in London on May 25th. Current IAC membership comprises directors or their appointed deputies from BGCI’s 10 Patron Gardens as well as leading gardens and botanical institutions from Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, Russia, Mexico, Switzerland, Ireland, France, Georgia, UK and Jordan. The intention is that IAC will become a global leadership forum for the botanic garden and arboretum sector, and this is reflected in the composition of the participants and in the agenda. The group will meet annually, and it will have a strategic mandate. Key elements of the agenda this first year will be agreeing the role, objectives and terms of reference of the group, guiding BGCI’s 5 year Business Plan and discussing the establishment of an international botanic garden fund.
