I am a Plant Biologist with post-graduation in Botany and then a PhD and Post-Doctoral Experience. Trained as a Plant Ecologist and Taxonomist with the primary interest in conservation ecology of threatened plants in the Western Ghats, India particularly using the reintroduction and translocations to improve their conservation status and explore ecosystem functions and processes. Other research interests are Species Recovery and Threat Status Assessment. I have worked on the Taxonomy and Ecology of plants in the Western Ghats region for over ten years, associated with various research projects, and in close connections with IUCN for over five years. My work experience gives me a combination of expertise in conservation and institutional development and impact assessment. During my tenure, I have conceived and managed several domestic and international funded programmes. I am also trained in the integration of Disaster Impact Assessment (DIA) in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). I have multiple positive experiences in group coordination and engagement with different stakeholders, including multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, as being part of international teams. I am a member of various international networks and Lead of the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management Young Professionals Network and Secretary of the International Society for Tropical Foresters India Chapter. I am a frequent blogger and part of various environment conservation networks. I take my responsibilities with high commitment and attention to detail, focusing on achieving the best likely outcomes for the organisation.
