Dr. Mustafa has held the position of Director of Programs at the Royal Botanic Garden of Jordan since November 2016. He lead implementation and operation components of RBG Programs.
He worked at the Jordan Badia Research and Development Centre as head of the Local Community Development Department 2009-2011, and he was manager of the Badia Centre for Ecological Education from 2003 to 2012. Dr. Mustafa has participate and managed a variety of development projects in such diverse topics as community-based rangeland rehabilitation, Livestock management, and developing sustainable livelihoods in pastoral communities.
Dr. Mustafa joined RBG in 2007- 2012 as part time consultant to collaborate the set up for the Community Based Rangeland Rehabilitation Project, He was responsible for managing the rangeland rehabilitation and assessment in RBG site, Since 2012, he has been a Researcher in the Community-Based Rangeland Rehabilitation programme at the Royal Botanic Garden of Jordan. Additionally He also works as a consultant for other national and international project and is a member of many national committees.
Dr. Mustafa is a frequent presenter at international conferences and is well published in the field of sustainable development; he has published more than 12 academic papers and reports. His work has included papers on the following topics: (1) Medicinal plants and ethno-pharmacology in the Badia regions of Jordan, (2) the importance of local knowledge on effective government programs, environmental, social, and otherwise, and (3) rangeland rehabilitation methods, exercises, and results. His research features both theoretical and applied approaches to the subjects of study.
Dr Mustafa Al-Shudiefat has a degree in a Veterinary Medicine and Surgery from JUST University 2003, he has experience in the field of the animal health, community development and range management in arid and semi-arid land.
