Hu Yonghong was in charged of the project of Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, that was started to establish in 2007 and opened in 2010 as the center for innovation and development of Botany, and the Heritage of Chinese Garden Treasures.
He acted as pioneer in proposing the intergration concept of the green building. He creatively combines the botany and landscape gardening with the study on urban living environment.
He is now the president of IABG-AD. He makes a long-term approaches to conservation of flora of eastern China and development of botanical garden in Shanghai. His primary research interest is in Germplasm Resource Innovation and Urban Horticulture for Eco-restoration in cities.
He has rich experience in Botanic Garden Conceptualisation and Design, Conservation Horticulture, Policy, Public Engagement, Sustainability, and Tree Conservation.
