The living collection of our university garden comprises about 10 000 species, almost half of which are grown in the greenhouses. It serves scientific as well as educational purposes.

We are seeking for a keen and experienced head gardener with specialist knowledge in horticulture of plants from Mediterranean to tropical areas as well as sound knowledge of greenhouse technology and team leadership.

In close cooperation with the director, curator and technical manager you are responsible for all horticultural aspects of the greenhouse division. The range of tasks of this diverse hands-on position includes the planning, organization and control of all work processes within the greenhouses, maintenance of the technical equipment, training and supervision of the gardeners and apprentices, designing of temporary and permanent naturalistic plantings arranged according to plant geography, pest control, and – not at last – further development of the division.
