The 2024 Seed Conservation Awards were open for nominations in April and the winners were announced at an awards ceremony at the 8th Global Botanic Garden Congress (8GBGC) in Singapore, earlier this month.

Congratulations to the winners:

1. Conserved the greatest proportion of threatened species in their collection: Nate Kingsley, Harold L. Lyon Arboretum, Hawaii US;
2. Conserved the most useful species: Gianna Pol Báez, Jardín Botánico Nacional Dr. Rafael M. Moscoso;
3. Conserved the most difficult species to collect: Guo Yong-Jie, Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences;
4. Conserved the most threatened species: Anurag Dhyani, Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (JNTBGRI);
5. Most photogenic seed: Ashley Sonner, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA);
6. Most unusual cleaning or germination process: Jeff Carstens, USDA-ARS-North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station
