It gives me great pleasure to announce the Call for Abstracts for the 8th Andean Orchid Conference. This premier, world-class orchid event is to be held in Gualaceo, Ecuador, the home of Ecuagenera and the Uzhupud Orchid Garden and Conference center. A uniquely perfect space, designed specifically for conferences such as the AOC.

Many the world’s most prominent orchid experts will be in attendance. It promises to be a spectacular event for orchid scientists and other experts to share their knowledge of Ecology, Conservation Biology, Systematics, Ethnobotany, Biotechnology, Horticulture and other disciplines. Aside from seeing the incredible array of plants available at Ecuagenera, Trips to see the rich orchid Flora of Ecuador in their natural habitat are being planned. You will not want to miss this opportunity!

I hope many of you will participate as speakers as well as delegates. Collectively we have so much to share and to learn from each other. It will be time of great discussions, fellowship and insight, as well as respite, at a time when much of the world is so deeply troubled.
