And we are back! We have one last episode with you for Series 1, covering the conclusions of CBD COP-16, whether it was a success, and what the next steps are for global plant conservation.
It was lovely to visit the podcast one last time to reflect on the interviews we have had, Megan’s experience of being at COP-16, and speaking with the wonderful Tara Moreau from UBC Botanical Garden.
Tara speaks to us about the importance of these global events to see the scope of the work we are undertaking, the increasing awareness of the importance of indigenous rights and knowledge, inspiring the next generation, and the power of both the GSPC and inter-sector collaboration.
Plus, to bring this series to a close, both Rebecca and Megan reflect on their hopes for the future of plant conservation.
A huge thank you to all our guests over the course of Series 1 of The Understory Podcast from BGCI who have shared so much with us and made us both hopeful for what comes next for plants.
That’s it for now, but we hope to be back in some form in 2025 for another walk through The Understory.
Thanks,
Rebecca & Megan 😊
