The latest issue of BGjournal, Vol 21 Number 1 is now available to download.
This bumper issue features 11 articles that focus on how botanic gardens are working towards achieving the Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD), Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) through implementation of the Complimentary Actions of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (GSPC).
The GSPC has been active part of the CBD for 22 years (since its adoption in 2002) and we have an interview with BGCI’s Chair of the Board, Professor Stephen Blackmore, who shares his experience of those initial meetings of when the GSPC came into being.
Featured in this issue are also articles from the Co-Chairs of the Global Partnership for Plant Conservation providing the story of the journey of the GSPC, and articles from gardens in China, Central Asia, Cuba, India, Colombia, Brazil and the Nordic network of botanic gardens, plus much more.
The University of British Colombia Botanic Garden is our featured garden and in BGCI News we feature our Accreditation Scheme and introduce you to our new staff members at BGCI who joined in 2023. Finally, we share details of our 2 international conference that are taking place this year and next respectively, and encourage you to attend these and engage with our global botanic garden network.
