On 16th March 2022, a workshop was held to discuss the progress of the ‘Farms and Forests’ project focusing on the implementation of Agroforestry practices at four selected villages of the Sra-Aem commune in northern Cambodia.
Agroforestry, the key component of this project, aims to improve the livelihoods of people through the availability of diversified food sources, competitive economic growth, and strengthened environmental resilience and ecosystem sustainability. It also promotes long-term, sustainable forest management. In agroforestry systems, trees and shrubs are produced on the same land area as agricultural crops or livestock to increase diversity for environmental, economic, and social benefits.
This workshop was jointly organised by NAPV (National Authority for Preah Vihear), ICRAF Vietnam (World Agroforestry), and BGCI (Botanic Gardens Conservation International) and was funded by the Darwin Initiative (27-015).
Funded by Darwin Initiative 27-015, runs from 1st Oct 2020 to 31st Mar 2023
