This timely, powerful webinar is about the critical role of Ukrainian botanic gardens during the ongoing war with Russia.
Since the Russian invasion in early 2022, gardens have been serving as centers of respite, recovery, environmental education, and nature healing. As a model for international collaboration, speakers will describe the gardens’ current focus on Therapeutic Horticulture, utilizing US expertise to assist the traumatized population of Ukraine, including veterans and refugee families. Ukrainian botanic garden leaders will provide vivid updates about their gardens and their work, and will discuss their productive collaborations with US and UK partners. The webinar will conclude with a question and answer session, and will explain how US botanic gardens can continue to support these efforts.
