BGCI’s International Advisory Council (IAC) comprises directors from 32 botanic gardens and arboreta worldwide. Its purpose is to provide strategic advice on the direction, balance and relevance of BGCI’s programmes and priorities, and to provide leadership for the sector. The IAC meets in person annually, and conducts virtual, ad hoc meetings on specific topics.
Following the retirement of Dr Gerard Donnelly, BGCI’s Board is delighted to announce the appointment of HRH Princess Basma bint Ali as the new Chair of BGCI’s International Advisory Council.
Princess Basma is a member of BGCI’s Board, is the FAO Goodwill Ambassador for Near East and North Africa, and is the Founder of the Royal Botanic Garden, Jordan.
