The International Plant Sentinel Network (IPSN) is excited to share an upcoming event by the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO) relevant to our ongoing efforts to monitor the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in Europe.

EPPO will be hosting its first webinar on Agrilus planipennis (EAB) on December 5, 2024. This half-day online session will focus on the distribution of EAB in the EPPO region, national control strategies in affected countries, and preparedness efforts by surrounding countries to manage potential outbreaks.

The webinar will be open to all interested participants. The working language will be English.

IPSN and the EAB Monitoring Initiative
This event is particularly timely, as IPSN concludes the 2024 monitoring season with botanic gardens across Eastern Europe. Over the past 3 years, our partner gardens have been actively contributing data on EAB/ Ash dieback symptoms, and EAB trapping efforts, offering critical insights into the impact of these organisms on ash populations in the region.

IPSN encourages all who are involved or interested in invasive pest monitoring to attend and gain valuable knowledge on a pest that poses significant risks to our ecosystems.
