We are excited to announce that the International Plant Sentinel Network (IPSN) has officially surpassed 100 members!
The IPSN has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 100 members worlwide! With 109 Botanic Gardens and Arboreta, we now count with members across 39 countries from around the globe.
In 2024, we expanded our reach by welcoming our first representatives from the Caribbean and Southeast Asia, with gardens from the Bahamas, Bermuda and Philippines joining the network. Additionally, we also welcomed new members from Brazil, Colombia, the USA, Belgium and Ukraine further strengthening IPSN’s global presence.
Reaching this milestone reflects the increasing recognition of biosecurity and pest and disease monitoring as essential elements in supporting global plant health. It also underscores the importance of strengthening connections, partnerships, and knowledge-sharing to enhance our collective efforts in protecting plant diversity. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue expanding our network, collaborating with professionals and experts worldwide, and inspiring more organizations to join our mission of safeguarding the world’s plants.

The IPSN is a global network of botanic gardens and arboreta working together with plant health specialists, diagnostic institutes and National Plant Protection Organisations (NPPOs) to provide an early warning system of new and emerging pest and pathogen risks through the monitoring of sentinel plants, as well as improving biosecurity best practices across botanic gardens and arboreta.
If you would like to join us in safeguarding our planet’s botanical diversity and get involved in a global effort to monitor potentially harmful organisms and enhance biosecurity practices, become part of the IPSN! Your organization will gain access to valuable resources, become part of a supportive community, and have the opportunity to contribute to these vital efforts.
