The latest issue of BGjournal, Vol 20 Number 1 is now available to download.

This issue features projects that have received funding through BGCI’s Global Botanic Garden Fund (GBGF). The GBGF was launched in 2018 with the support of BGCI’s International Advisory Council and allows us to channel funds, in the form of small grants, to meet the fundamental needs of botanic gardens, especially those located in high biodiversity but less-well resourced areas.

Featured in this issue are projects from as far apart as the Democratic Republic of Congo, New Zealand and the Philippines, covering Covid-recovery activities, conservation of rare and threatened plants and partnerships for tree conservation.

The Shanghai Botanic Garden is our featured garden and we also have an interview with Patricia Malcolm, BGCI’s Membership and Conservation Services Manager, who amongst her many jobs, is the administrator of the GBGF.
