As part of the International Plant Sentinel Network (IPSN) efforts to address the spread of pest and diseases, we are currently collaborating with Forest Research to collate key information to develop monitoring protocols and guidance for early detection and management of Sooty Bark Disease in the UK.

To inform this process, we are keen to learn from your experiences and would appreciate any information you can share regarding monitoring protocols or sampling guidance you may already have in place for this disease in your garden or country.

Your insights and existing strategies would be invaluable in helping us shape effective guidance for the UK. Specifically, we are interested in:

  • Current protocols or methodologies for monitoring the disease
  • Any early detection techniques you have found effective
  • Reporting and management of cases
  • Challenges or lessons learned from your experience

We would be grateful for any documentation, advice, or case studies you can provide or if you would be willing to participate in our short expert interviews.

f you would like to contribute with any documentation, advice, case studies, or if you would be willing to participate in a brief expert interview, please contact us.

Your contributions will significantly aid our efforts to manage Sooty Bark Disease in the UK.
