The Red Sudamericana de Jardines Botánicos (RSAJB) presents a regular series of virtual talks introducing you to experts in the different aspects of the role and technical management of botanic gardens in the Latin American region.

The most recent talk was entitled ‘An ethnobiological garden: expanding the horizons of the Francisco Javier Clavijero Botanic Garden’ and was presented by Dr. Milton Díaz Toribio, curator and manager of the Francisco Javier Clavijero Botanical Garden, Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. It explored how the social role of the Francisco Javier Clavijero Botanical Garden has expanded as an ethnobiological space to rescue and conserve biological and cultural diversity, as well as safeguard and disseminate knowledge, through strengthening relationships with local producers, communities and civil society.

The talk is in Spanish and was streamed live via Zoom on the 18 January 2024 at 18:00 UK time. You can watch the recording below.
