The Red Sudamericana de Jardines Botánicos (RSAJB) presents a regular series of virtual talks introducing you to experts in the different aspects of the role and technical management of botanic gardens in the Latin American region.
The most recent talk was entitled “Base de Datos PlantSearch: Jardines Botánicos compartiendo información” and was presented by Patricia Malcolm, Head of Membership and Conservation Services at BGCI; with support from Víctor Luna, curator at the Jardin Botánico Francisco Javier Clavijero, México, and Diego Moreno, curator at the Jardín Botánico de Bogotá, Colombia.
The talk explored why gardens should share and update their listing in GardenSearch and PlantSearch, its benefits for the gardens and the wider botanic garden community, we heard from the experiences of the gardens in Mexico and Colombia. And Patricia gave a detailed step by step on how to do the upload onto the new PlantSearch.
The talk was in Spanish and was streamed live via Zoom on the 21 March 2024. You can watch the recording below.
