BGCI-US
BGCI-US connects conservation interests, best practices, and information with botanic gardens and conservation partners to secure threatened plants in North America and around the world. We utilize BGCI’s global network to increase the impact of conservation efforts by North American botanic gardens and ensure that the world’s amazing plant diversity is valued, secure and supporting all life.
About
Botanic Gardens Conservation International (U.S.), Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors that meets three to four times a year. For more information on our US Offices, click here.
What We Do
BGCI-US provides plant conservation information and tools to botanic gardens. Using BGCI’s GardenSearch, PlantSearch, GlobalTreeSearch, and ThreatSearch, we guide collections development and planning at the individual garden, regional, national, and global levels.
BGCI-US implements our vision in three main ways, by:
- Providing tools and information to gardens
- Building collections and conserving plants
- Advocating for gardens and plants
Fellowship in Conservation Horticulture
In collaboration with the Garden Club of America, BGCI-US operates a Fellowship in Conservation Horticulture to promote plant conservation capacity and coordination among botanic gardens, and/or public gardens, in the United States.
