About the Wellington Botanic Garden
Exceptional blend of native bush, exotic trees, plant collections and stunning seasonal floral bedding displays – including 25,000 tulips in spring. Check out the award-winning Lady Norwood Rose Garden, the Begonia House conservatory tropical and temperate areas, succulent, fragrant and herb gardens, duck pond, historic conifer collection, sculpture walk, Peace Flame garden and a heritage rose collection in the adjacent Bolton Street Memorial Park. Set in a landscape of steep topography, views of the city and garden are exquisite. The Treehouse Visitor Centre offers garden information and exhibits, and a gift shop and Picnic café are located in the Begonia House. Otari Wilton's Bush is New Zealand's only native botanic garden and consists of 75ha of indigenous forest and 25ha of landscaped areas containing native threatened species
